Brendan Rodgers has been tipped to seriously contemplate his Celtic future after the woeful display against Kairat in the Champions League.
Celtic lost to Kairat on penalties in the Champions League play-off phase last night (26 August) as the Hoops fell to an unassuming Kazakhstani outfit.
The green and white half of Glasgow were up in arms over the terrible display as Celtic fans called to sack Rodgers and the board.
With the Northern Irishman suffering a huge embarrassment, questions will now be asked over the future of Rodgers at Celtic, particularly with the squad looking weaker than ever.

Speaking on talkSPORT (27 August), former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor gave his verdict on where the ex-Leicester City manager stands with Celtic after a catastrophic loss, exacerbated by poor transfer business.
Discussing the perilous situation for the Bhoys and the serious considerations the manager should ponder, the ex-Villain said: “I know they’re a selling club…they’ve sold their best players over the years but if you’re a Celtic fan you’re thinking, ‘we had a good go last season.
Won the league comfortably, Champions League we give it a good go as well.
“‘Why can’t we invest in the summer?
Because the board can’t just keep selling you players and not giving you the right players to bring back in because, Celtic, you’re used to them now being in the Champions League.”

Alluding to what Agbonlahor was highlighting about the poor transfer decisions by the Hoops, the ex-Liverpool boss may well be considering leaving the club given the lack of reinforcements.
Having won the league for the last four seasons, including twice under Rodgers’ leadership, the Bhoys have mostly dominated Scottish football.
Yet, with Rangers going through a transition right now and other top-flight sides showing promise early on in the 2025-26 campaign, Celtic may be concerned about whether they can maintain the momentum this year.

Sources have told Football Insider that Rodgers is on a shortlist to become the next Nottingham Forest manager after differences have arose between Nuno Espirito Santo and Evangelos Marinakis.
This suggests that maybe the former Foxes coach could be eyeing up a return to the Premier League given the lack of investment he is receiving with his current team.
Given he came back to Celtic Park for a second occasion, perhaps the Northern Irishman has grown tired of Glasgow and is seeking another go at the English top-flight.
