Brendan Rodgers has been backed as a potential Ruben Amorim replacement at Man United thanks to his disenchantment with Celtic.
Both Celtic and Man United have endured woeful weeks in cup tournaments, as the two sides crashed out to significantly weaker opposition.
Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic future is in doubt after their exit from the Champions League to Kazakhstani outfit Kairat Almaty.
Similarly, Ruben Amorim’s managerial position at Man United is also at stake after falling out of the EFL Cup to League Two side Grimsby, capping off a horrendous start to the season for the Portuguese.
With both coaches unhappy with their current situations, could the Northern Irishman be the man to usurp the ex-Sporting CP boss at Old Trafford?

The ex-Tottenham striker asked: “Is it too big a job for Brendan Rodgers?”
To which Parlour responded: “Would Brendan leave Celtic?”
Brazil added: “He might because I think he’s very upset.
There’s been no investment before the Champions League.”

One key issue, that is perhaps not spoken about enough, is the United board’s persistence to bring in managers without any experience in the English top-flight.
Erik ten Hag, whilst delivering two trophies during his spell in Manchester, had only coached in the Netherlands and Germany.
Ajax was the most high profile of these teams yet he was rarely in the spotlight, much like Amorim who managed Sporting CP and Braga in Portugal.

Handling the pressure and media attention as the Red Devils boss comes with the need to be tough, fearless and resolute, attributes that these managers clearly lacked when compared to the likes of Jose Mourinho.
The former Chelsea boss, largely, handled his role well at Old Trafford, due to his Premier League experience which is something Rodgers has from stints at Leicester, Swansea and Liverpool.
Therefore, knowing the Northern Irishman is irate with his current situation and lack of backing in Glasgow, the United board could make a drastic move to bring him in to replace the struggling Portuguese coach.
