Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes is open to a move to Saudi Arabia, the USA, or one of Europe’s other major leagues at the end of the season.

Fernandes missed a penalty as Man United drew 1-1 with Fulham in their second Premier League game of the campaign on Sunday, 24 August.

Thanks to their draw at Craven Cottage, the Red Devils are yet to win a game this season, having been beaten by Arsenal in their opening fixture.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are preparing for their Carabao Cup clash with Grimsby Town on Wednesday, 27 August.

Amid a busy summer at Old Trafford, Rasmus Hojlund is set to leave Man United, following the acquisition of fellow striker Benjamin Sesko.

Meanwhile, captain Fernandes is set to remain with the North West club this summer, but has his sights set on a move at the end of the campaign.

According to the Daily Mail on Tuesday, 26 August, the Portugal international is open to a new project next summer, and would consider a move to Saudi Arabia, Major League Soccer, or one of Europe’s other top leagues.

Amid interest from the Saudi Pro League, Fernandes chose to remain at Man United for another season.

The 30-year-old made the right call to stay in the Premier League ahead of a World Cup year, while he has previously helped the Red Devils win both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.

However, Ruben Amorim’s system utilises Fernandes in a deeper midfield role, rather than deploying him in a more advanced position, where he has previously enjoyed success.

The former Sporting man was a key asset for Amorim’s men last term, notching a strong return of 19 goals and 18 assists across all competitions.

However, the presence of summer signings Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo means that there is less of an onus on Fernandes to provide his best attacking exploits.

Therefore, the midfielder is right to be exploring his options once the new campaign concludes.

Meanwhile, the Old Trafford club remain in a period of uncertainty, after finishing just 15th in the Premier League last season.
