Ruben Amorim made the Man United’s attack his priority to rebuild ahead of the new season, with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo signing for the Red Devils earlier in the transfer window.

Last season, Man United managed just 44 Premier League goals, the fifth lowest tally in the division, highlighting the need to rebuild their frontline.

Following another disappointing season from Rasmus Hojlund, the club sought a natural centre-forward and Man United officially secured the signing of Sesko last week.

Ahead of the new campaign, captain Fernandes sent a message to the promising new addition, signalling optimism for the season ahead.

Fernandes reacted to the news of the new signing, sharing a dedicated post of himself with Sesko on his Instagram story, captioned with a muscle emoji.

Both Newcastle and Arsenal showed interest, but Arsenal ultimately focused on signing Viktor Gyokeres, while Newcastle faced rejection from another top target.

The 22-year-old departs Leipzig after 87 appearances, during which he scored 37 goals and provided eight assists across all competitions.

His arrival likely spells bad news for Rasmus Hojlund, as United appear open to selling the striker, although the Dane has shown reluctance to leave the club.

While Fernandes welcomed Sesko, speculation about his own future has been mounting this summer amid interest from Saudi Arabia.

However, Football Insider has revealed that Fernandes is set to stay at Manchester United, with manager Amorim “determined” to keep the captain at the club.

Despite reported interest from Al-Nassr and Fernandes having already turned down a move to Al-Hilal earlier in the window, the Red Devils seem unwilling to part ways with their influential midfielder.

Whether this stance will change in the future remains uncertain, but for now, it’s clear that United are keen to retain their captain this summer.
