Bruno Guimaraes has revealed that he has no contact with Alexander Isak as he reveals how his teammates are feeling on the situation.

Liverpool’s pursuit of the Newcastle United forward has reached boiling point, with the final week of the summer window set to decide whether the Sweden international moves to Anfield or remains exiled on Tyneside.

Since missing Newcastle’s pre-season tour and publicly demanding an exit, Isak has trained alone while both clubs maintain firm stances.

Liverpool’s opening £110 million offer was rebuffed, and Newcastle insist they are in no rush to sell their top scorer.

Yet the tension only escalated after Monday’s 3–2 defeat to Liverpool at St James’ Park.

In a dramatic development, Newcastle co-owners Jamie Reuben and Jacobo Solis visited Isak at his home in a bid to mend fences, though the striker remains intent on a move.

The Athletic warns this saga “could go down to the wire”.

Newcastle’s hierarchy are scouring the market for reinforcements, including Yoane Wissa and Jørgen Strand Larsen, to guard against Isak’s potential departure.

Legal routes such as FIFA’s Article 17 have been dismissed as impractical this window, leaving a conventional transfer as the only viable exit.

Predictably, Bruno Guimaraes has revealed that it’s been “tough” for him and his teammates not having their star man on matchdays:

“I haven’t had any contact with him,” Guimaraes told ESPN Brazil after the Liverpool defeat.

“We’ve been training in the mornings, and he trains at a different time, when no one from the team is around.”

“As captain, and for us as players, it’s a tough situation because we want to have the best players with us.

“But that’s something we can’t control

The club, the management, the owners are dealing with it, and I hope it gets sorted out in the best way.”

“We’re really missing our striker, a player who scored more than 20 goals in the Premier League last season, so of course he’s someone we feel the absence of,”

“We hope to have our best player back, but unfortunately, this is a situation that neither I nor any other player can control.”

A resolution is expected to be found this week in one way or another with the transfer window slamming shut on September 1st.
