Man United captain Bruno Fernandes shared an update with supporters as players prepare to face Man City.

Man United have had a poor start to the season with the club losing two Premier League games as well as the Red Devils being knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Grimsby Town.

While pressure has mounted on the manager in recent weeks, Football Insider revealed Amorim retains the backing of Man United’s hierarchy.

Now, with international duty coming to an end, focus switches to domestic football as the club travel to the Etihad Stadium for the Manchester derby on 14 September.

However, Fernandes reflected on the break and shared a message to reminisce in his latest post.

Ruben Amorim has come under pressure at Man United.

Fernandes’ latest post on Instagram featured highlights from the recent international break, and captioned his message with a Portugal flag and smiley-faced emoji.

His Man United teammates shared support on the post, with Mbeumo, Mason Mount and fellow Portuguese compatriot Pedro Neto all reacting with a like.

The Man United captain started in both of Portugal’s fixtures after a 3-2 win over Hungary and 5-0 win against Armenia.

That run leaves Portugal top of Group F with a perfect record at the start of their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Meanwhile, the midfielder’s future continues to come under question over the break as Football Insider revealed Man United will not rule out letting Fernandes leave in 2026 amid ongoing Saudi Pro League interest.

Fernandes rejected a move to Al-Hilal in the summer despite the Saudi club willing to offer a reported £100 million for his services.

Still, it appears the speculation hasn’t stopped his displays and continues his influential role for both club and country.

While the transfer window has closed, United have continued their pursuit in search of a new midfielder.

Former club scout Mick Brown revealed that Man United have considered a move for Elliot Anderson in the next transfer window as they failed in their attempt to sign Carlos Baleba.

However, Football Insider reported Nottingham Forest have no plans to sell Anderson, despite United’s continued interest.

The midfielder remains under contract at Forest until 2029, and the club are determined to keep hold of one of their key assets, which is another setback in United’s midfield targets.
