The Reds have made it five wins from five after beating Everton 2-1 in the Merseyside derby, meaning they stretch their lead at the top of the table to five points.

This could close further on Sunday, however, if Arsenal manage to beat Manchester City, as a win would see them go just three points behind Liverpool.

Either way, one of the Reds’ rivals will be dropping points, with it being hard to tell at this stage who will be competing with them for the trophy.

Man City’s Bernardo Silva, though, has had his say ahead of the game on who he thinks their biggest rivals are, and he does not think it is even close.

It had always been Man City and Liverpool competing for the league title in recent years, with fans even labelling the title race as ‘Citypool’.

However, Arsenal have thrown their hat into the ring over the last three seasons or so, with the Gunners coming close on numerous occasions.

This year could be theirs, though, now that they have the striker they claimed they were in desperate need of, but Silva still thinks that Liverpool will always be their biggest rivals.

“All rivalries are different.

Manchester United have been going through a very difficult phase,” he told Sky Sports.

“I would say our biggest rivals by far are Liverpool because they have always competed with us for titles and they have also managed to win titles.

“Then you would see a team like Arsenal, who get better and better, starting to compete for these titles, even if they haven’t reached that level of achieving it yet.

“Until now, though, I would always say that Liverpool are our biggest rivals.”

The Reds have already taken points off Arsenal this season, maximum points too, with this result one of their most important at the beginning of the season.

And with Arsenal and Man City facing each other on Sunday, Reds fans know they will gain a slight advantage either way, with it probably being hard to pick which team they would rather see lose.

However, they still have to win their games first and still have to play Pep Guardiola’s team twice this season, with the first coming on November 9th.

This is sandwiched right in the middle of two very tricky games: Real Madrid and Nottingham Forest, both at Anfield.

So, that is when the ‘biggest rivals’ theory can be tested, but for now, the Reds must keep plodding along.
