Caoimhín Kelleher appears set to end his nine-year tenure at Anfield this summer, with multiple Premier League clubs vying for his signature amid the Reds’ willingness to negotiate a transfer.
The 26-year-old, who has made 67 appearances for Liverpool since his 2019 debut, seeks regular first-team football after years as Alisson Becker’s deputy.
Kelleher’s desire for a starting role has intensified following Liverpool’s acquisition of Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia, a move that positions the Georgian as Alisson’s long-term successor.
The 26-year-old has made his desire for regular first-team football clear.
Speaking at Anfield on Sunday after the title ceremony, Kelleher confirmed that he is working on a move away from the Reds:
“It’s really special.
Nice atmosphere today with the whole crowd and I made a few appearances this season so it’s nice to win something at the end of the season,” Kelleher said.
“I’ve said it before, I feel like I’m a number one and I think I’m good enough to play week in and week out.”
“That’s what I’m looking to do?
This season I was lucky enough to play a lot of games, but it’s definitely something I’m looking at,” the 26-year-old confirmed.
Now Lewis Steele of the Daily Mail has reported that four Premier League clubs in Brentford, Leeds, Bournemouth, and West Ham are on the hunt for the Republic of Ireland international:
“Caoimhin Kelleher confirmed his desire to be a No 1 again on Sunday and Liverpool will not stand in his way if the price is right,” the Merseyside journalist wrote.
“They want around £25m with Brentford, Leeds, Bournemouth and West Ham among those keen.”
Brentford appear to lead the pursuit, viewing Kelleher as the ideal replacement for Bayer Leverkusen-bound Mark Flekken.
The Bees’ existing relationship with Liverpool – forged through deals for Fabio Carvalho and Sepp van den Ber – could facilitate negotiations.
Liverpool’s valuation of £20-30 million is not his true value but the 26-year-old is entering the final year of his contract.
