Liverpool’s busy transfer window continued apace on Sunday as the Reds edged closer to more incomings and outgoings.
It looks like being one of the busiest summers on record at Anfield as Arne Slot tries to shape the team in his image.
Liverpool are locked in negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen over a record-breaking deal for Florian Wirtz in what will be the headline addition of the window.
But while talks continued over in Germany, news broke on Sunday that Caoimhin Kelleher is set to leave for Brentford.
Kelleher had long been expected to depart Liverpool at the end of the season, having outgrown his role as back-up to Alisson Becker.

Kelleher has been a brilliant number two over the years.
After graduating from the Liverpool academy, the 26-year-old proved his worth over and over again.
According to BBC Sport, Kelleher will leave for a fixed £12.5m fee, with the potential that the deal could reach £18m if certain conditions are met.

Although that would seem low for a goalkeeper of Kelleher’s quality, the fact that he had one year left on his Liverpool deal meant the Reds were never going to extract full value.
As statistician Michael Reid proved with a remarkable post about Kelleher, though, Brentford have got themselves an absolute bargain.

“Caoimhin Kelleher has the highest win rate of any goalkeeper to make 50+ apps for LFC in all comps in the club’s history,” Reid posted on X.
As it turns out, Kelleher’s record of having won 65.7% of his 67 appearances is the best ratio in Liverpool history.
Alisson is second, with 65.4%, with legends such as Bruce Grobbelaar, Ray Clemence and Pepe Reina all left trailing in Kelleher’s wake.
The back-up goalkeeper position at Liverpool is not an easy one to fill.
Given the quality of Alisson, it is highly unlikely you will ever force yourself into position as the club’s number one.

However, Alisson also has an injury history unlike any other top level goalie, meaning plenty of games are still on offer.
You need to be good enough to ensure there is no drop-off.
Kelleher performed this role brilliantly and it will be fascinating to see how he handles the pressure of playing week-in, week-out in the Premier League.
In the meantime, Liverpool need a new number two.
Giorgi Mamardashvili has of course already been signed, but there has been some debate as to whether he will settle for being back-up.
But Mamardashvili recently confirmed he will stay at Liverpool next season, meaning the Georgian will be the direct replacement for Kelleher.
