New Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti has named a Liverpool man in his first squad for the Selecao.
The legendary Italian manager was announced as the new Brazil national team coach last week after ending his second spell at Real Madrid recently.
Ancelotti joined the Spanish club from Everton in 2021, returning to the club where he had initially coached from 2013 to 2015.
However, after four seasons at the club, he departed at the end of the season to become Brazil’s coach.
Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has since replaced him at Santiago Bernabeu, with the ex-Bayer Leverkusen coach officially announced at the weekend.
Shorlty after his unveiling as the Brazil national team coach, Ancelotti announced his first squad list for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay, and it includes Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
The Brazilian goalkeeper was a key member of the Liverpool squad that won the Premier League title this season.
He has now been rewarded with a place in the Selecao team that will face Ecuadorr and Paraguay next week.
Alisson has been battling the national team’s number.
However, the City goalkeeper was not called up for the upcoming games, with Ancelotti preferring Alisson, alongside Al Nassr goalkeeper Bento and Corinthians’ goalkeeper Hugo Souza.
Alisson already has 72 caps for the Brazil national team.
