Casemiro will have left Ruben Amorim absolutely seething after getting himself sent off for Man United against Chelsea.
The clash at Old Trafford on Saturday, 20 September, made for sensational viewing for neutral supporters, and the Red Devils will have been grinning from ear to ear after Robert Sanchez was shown a red card.
He wiped out Bryan Mbeumo outside of the penalty area, which caused a flurry of substitutions from the visitors, and Cole Palmer was also replaced after 21 minutes, with fears of a new injury emerging.
Amongst all this action, both Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro had scored to give United a sizeable lead, which Amorim’s side were in desperate need of, only for the latter to pick up a second yellow card.
Chelsea got one goal back to put supporters right on the edge of their seats, but United stuck together for all three points, no thanks to Casemiro.
According to Squawka, the Brazilian midfielder becomes the first-ever Man United player in the Premier League era to score and be sent off in the first half of a game.

Up until this point, the Red Devils were coasting towards three points, with Maresca’s side able to do very little with a one-man disadvantage, but that was put at great risk by the midfielder’s decision-making.

While they took advantage of Chelsea going down to 10 men, it was a very positive performance from the Red Devils, as they had only secured one victory in their opening five games of the campaign.
Three points sees United move to ninth in the Premier League table before Fulham‘s clash with Brentford, which is a much better standing than their 15th-place finish last season.
It could have been so different had the Blues built on Trevoh Chalobah‘s goal with 10 minutes remaining, but the team stuck together without Casemiro to seal an all-important three points.
