The second day of Matchday 1 of the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League season was full of twists and turns, and boasted plenty of goals.

The heroics of Marcos Llorente, who scored a second-half brace to tie the score, wasn't quite enough for Atlético Madrid, who conceded in second-half stoppage time as captain Virgil van Dijk ensured the Anfield crowd went home satisfied by a 3-2 win.
Elsewhere, Harry Kane haunted old London rivals Chelsea by netting a brace in Bayern Munich's 3-1 win.
