Liverpool look poised to have a big end to the transfer window with the potential signings of Alexander Isak and Marc Guehi.
The Reds have had a busy summer across the board, spending sums of money previously unheard of inside Anfield.
But having blasted through the club transfer record to sign Florian Wirtz, Liverpool look likely to do the same again to get Isak.
Should the Swede be added to the Liverpool squad before Monday’s deadline, Arne Slot’s attacking options for the season will be complete.
With the Reds hoping to retain their Premier League title and go far deeper in the Champions League this season, Isak can be the missing piece to help them do that.
And according to former England defender Micah Richards, his arrival from Newcastle could well make Liverpool the best team in Europe.

Despite their dominance in the Premier League last season, Liverpool were ultimately disappointing in the Champions League.
Although they ran riot in the group stage, winning seven out of eight games and topping the table, they came unstuck against PSG in the round of 16.

But, speaking to The Rest Is Football, Richards suggested that the addition of Isak could ‘change the dynamic’ and make Liverpool the best team on the continent.
“I don’t think Liverpool should care about the form of Ekitike, get a striker while he wants to come to you,” said the pundit.
“Historically look at the teams that won the league, they’ve had loads of options in the forward areas.”

“Ekitike can play sort of off the front as well, he can play off the left and share that with Gakpo.
I just think, if you look around Europe now and thinking who are the top teams?
But I think if you add Isak to Liverpool that changes the dynamic of everything.”
“Ekitike was at PSG, it didn’t work out for him, went to Germany did really well, he’s still got to prove that he is a top striker” Richards continued, arguing why Liverpool should sign Isak.
If you add Isak to Liverpool he’s guaranteed goals.
So, I would say it’s more important for them to add another striker because I think they can just outscore teams.”
Although Richards makes a good point in that Ekitike is not quite Premier League proven just yet, the Frenchman has started brilliantly in Liverpool red.
As a result, some supporters have been questioning the wisdom of spending such a big fee to get Isak as well.
Nevertheless, it is clear that the Sweden international is a level above Ekitike at the moment, and his arrival can tip the balance for Liverpool.
It does beg the question of whether the two players can play together, but all the noises coming out since Ekitike joined in July have suggested that Liverpool are preparing the ground for him to play with a partner.
It does not have to be one or the other, Slot is seemingly planning to go ahead with them both.
