With four games still to play, the Reds have the chance to really open up the gap on Arsenal and pile the misery on Mikel Arteta's side.

They face a Chelsea side coming off the back of a resounding win in the UEFA Conference League, with Enzo Maresca's team all but in the final already after a 4-1 win at Djurgarden.

The Blues though are eyeing up a place in the Champions League next season, and they may well have been helped by Liverpool getting the title wrapped up early.

Slot has confirmed he will rotate his squad over the remaining fixtures, meaning some of the Reds' fringe players could get a start at Stamford Bridge today.

Great save

Good save from Alisson to deny Sancho.

At the moment, it doesn't feel like a save that will make a huge difference, but there is still time for Liverpool to get something out of this game.

About as close as Liverpool has come all afternoon.

A dangerous cross from Gakpo out on the left, which Colwill just manages to get his head on and clear away for a corner.

James Findlater

Deja vu

There is a distinct feel of that Man City game back in 2020 about this one.

Fingers crossed for a better second half, which isn't too far away now.

Half-time

The referee blows his whistle for half-time - safe to say that wasn't one of Liverpool's better showings this season, although you can understand why.

Chelsea 1-0 LiverpoolJames Findlater

Goal disallowed

Nicolas Jackson picks up the ball, and he plays it on to Madueke, who rounds Alisson and pokes the ball into an empty net - the flag is up for offside though.

They've just shown a replay - Jackson is miles off as he gets the ball, and he really shouldn't have been.

That's unbelievably lazy from the Chelsea striker.

Chelsea 1-0 LiverpoolJames Findlater

Off the bar!

A sustained spell of pressure from Chelsea as Liverpool struggles to clear its lines from back-to-back corners.

In the end, Caicedo tries to lift the ball into the box from the right, and in the process manages to hit the top of the crossbar.

Liverpool looking rusty

Alexander-Arnold tries to find Salah in space, but the Egyptian's first touch lets him down.

More than a few Liverpool players looking a bit rusty so far, which is perhaps to be expected after the high of last week.

Cody Gakpo charging down the left - it's a tight angle, and it proves probably too tight in the end as he fires it straight at Sanchez.
