Chelsea and Liverpool have both enjoyed strong transfer windows as they ready themselves for the upcoming Premier League title race.
The Reds have boosted their chances of retaining their top-flight crown by signing players like Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are looking to build on last season’s Conference League and Club World Cup successes, and have strengthened by acquiring notable stars such as former Ajax defender Jorrel Hato and ex-Brighton striker Joao Pedro.
Ahead of their Premier League opener with Bournemouth on Friday, 15 August, Liverpool are keen on Guehi.

Marc Guehi has excelled for Crystal Palace since leaving Chelsea in favour of the Eagles back in 2021.
The centre-back has become a regular feature for England and captained Palace to last season’s FA Cup success.
According to the Daily Express, the Stamford Bridge side could scupper Liverpool’s plans to acquire Guehi.

Meanwhile, playing ‘transfer Tinder’ live on talkSPORT, Ray Parlour urged the Blues to re-sign the 25-year-old: “From Chelsea’s point of view, you’ve got to go right (say yes), certainly.
“He’s been brilliant at Palace, and Palace don’t want to lose him, but they are a selling club.
“But from Chelsea’s point of view, they’re getting a very, very good player.”

Chelsea have bolstered their defence this summer by signing Hato, and the 19-year-old can comfortably operate as both a left-back and in central defence.

However, the West London side have been rocked by the news that centre-back Levi Colwill has suffered an ACL injury and will consequently miss the majority of the upcoming season.
Colwill played a key role as Enzo Maresca’s men clinched Champions League qualification, as well as lifting silverware via both the Conference League and the Club World Cup.
The Blues’ trophy-winning exploits could even suggest that they can seriously trouble the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal in the Premier League title race.
However, Colwill’s long-term absence will hinder their performances, unless Maresca effectively utilises the transfer market once again.
Re-signing their academy graduate Guehi would be an ideal move for the Stamford Bridge club, as they vie to adjust to life without Colwill.
Meanwhile, Guehi should have no qualms about whether he would enjoy game time at Chelsea, thanks to the 22-year-old’s injury.
