Alejandro Garnacho is expected to leave Manchester United this summer, and he could be set for a move to Chelsea.

The 21-year-old joined the United academy from Atletico Madrid back in 2020, rising through the ranks before making his senior debut two years later.

However back in May, Garnacho hit out at current manager Ruben Amorim on social media, after he was dropped to the bench for the Red Devils’ Europa League final defeat to Tottenham.

As a result, Amorim told the Argentinian winger he was not part of his future plans, and that he should seek a move away from Old Trafford.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that Chelsea could take advantage of the disarray by landing a bargain deal for Garnacho.

This article contains exclusive comment from Keith Wyness, former Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen CEO.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Garnacho is a steal for Chelsea at £30million.

Enzo Maresca’s side have already added the likes of Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, and Liam Delap this summer, and are now looking to add the Red Devils’ winger to their attacking ranks.

Wyness added that the whole situation shows Man United’s weakness, especially in the transfer market.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think this just shows a bit of the United weakness and the way they’ve handled a lot of things.

“At £30million, Garnacho’s a steal and I think that is a good deal.

The biggest problem with Garnacho is, of course, we know that there have been issues around his temperament.

If he’s not getting the game time due to the size and quality of the Chelsea squad, will that manifest itself down the road?

So I think it’s good business for Chelsea.”

Meanwhile, Aston Villa are set to demand in excess of £80m to entertain offers for Morgan Rogers amid growing interest from Chelsea, sources have told Football Insider.

Rogers is seen as the “dream signing” for Chelsea, who have been keeping a close eye on his progress at Villa Park after a successful season under Unai Emery.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on 28 July that Chelsea have proposed a player exchange for Rogers including cash plus Tosin Adarabioyo and Nicolas Jackson.

However, Villa are extremely reluctant to lose the England international this summer and have no plans to weaken Emery’s squad in the closing stages of the window.
