In addition, the club confirmed the permanent signing of Chelsea full-back Alejandra Bernabe.

Bernabe has rejoined the Reds permanently after spending the second half of last season on loan with the club.

She becomes the first Spanish player to move permanently between two English clubs in the women’s game.

Bernabe joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid in 2023, making two appearances and spending a season on loan at Real Sociedad.

The 23-year-old, who began at Madrid CFF, has Champions League experience with Atletico.

Internationally, she has one senior Spain cap from November 2022 and won the U17 European Championship in 2018.

After completing a medical and signing a contract at the AXA Melwood Training Centre today, Bernabe told Liverpoolfc.com: “I’m so happy to be here.

Last season was amazing, so I was so happy to be back.

“I think here I have the opportunity to be my best.

Here, I feel well with the people, with the club, with my teammates and everything.

“I think it’s so important for [players] to be 100 per cent on the pitch, so I try to give that.

And here I think is the place [for me].”

Bernabe, who was sidelined by an injury towards the end of 2024-25, added: “I’m so much better [now].

It’s a long time.

“I’m still nearly [able] to go to the pitch, so I’m feeling so good.

I’ll go step by step.

“The most important thing is that I feel good, I don’t have pain
