Liverpool have won the Premier League in Arne Slot’s first season in charge and the club are reportedly set to back him in the upcoming transfer window in an attempt to bring further success to the club under his leadership.

Jorrel Hato is a name that has been linked to Liverpool this season.

Excitement started building around this player’s name towards the end of January as Hato watched on as Liverpool beat Ipswich Town 4-1 at Anfield.

Fabrizio Romano then confirmed the club’s interest in the player in February.

News connecting him to Liverpool has gone a little quiet since then but we have now been provided an update on his situation.

Chief Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has revealed that Liverpool will now face competition from Chelsea for Jorrel Hato.

The London club are reportedly seriously considering making a move to sign the Dutch defender from Ajax.

Chelsea’s interest is said to be longstanding and it is a player they admire and he is being watched closely by the club.

Liverpool have had their fare share of transfer tussles with Chelsea over the years, with the most recent one that is definitely worth a mention being the battle over Moises Caicedo.

Liverpool bid a British record transfer fee of £111m in the summer of 2023 in a last ditch attempt to snatch him away from Chelsea after he had one foot in Stamford Bridge.

Brighton accepted the bid but it was not enough to spark a change of heart as the Ecuadorian defensive midfielder was already set on Chelsea and chose the Blues over the Reds.

He’ll now be clapping them on to the pitch this weekend as Chelsea are set to give Liverpool a guard of honour.

Looking back at Jorell Hato, he will be a name to keep an eye on this summer as Liverpool are said to be interested but so are Chelsea and Arsenal.

Hato is a promising young Dutch defender who can play as a centre-back or left-back and is currently regarded as one of the best young talents in the world.

He may just be on his way to England this summer.
