Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim could follow Jurgen Klopp's example by pumping the brakes on his club's pursuit of Chelsea winger Christopher Nkunku.
Speculation suggests the Red Devils are contemplating a swap deal with the Blues, which would see Nkunku join while Alejandro Garnacho heads in the opposite direction.
But the rumoured trade could take a sudden twist should United succeed with their latest offer to sign Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo.
The Telegraph reported both United and Chelsea are "weighing up" the idea of Nkunku and Garnacho swapping allegiances this summer.
And he more recently fueled speculation after posting a photo of him donning a Marcus Rashford Villa kit, sparking outrage among fans.

Nkunku, 27, was welcomed with open arms when he joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig for £52million in 2023.
If this is true, it would demonstrate the Portuguese's persuasive abilities, reminiscent of ex-Liverpool manager Klopp.
