Chelsea and Liverpool have set up a rematch of the 2021/22 Carabao Cup final later this month at Wembley.

The Reds will be high on confidence going into the clash as they are top of the Premier League table and still in all three cup competitions.

It is the first opportunity for Jurgen Klopp’s men to win a trophy this season, and they will surely be relishing the opportunity to add more silverware to the Anfield records.

The Reds beat the likes of Leicester City, Bournemouth, West Ham, and Fulham to book their ticket to the final.

Chelsea, entering in the 2nd round of the competition, battled through AFC Wimbledon, Brighton, Blackburn, Newcastle United, and Middlesbrough.

Liverpool ended a run of seven dreary draws against Chelsea with an emphatic 4-1 victory at Anfield almost two weeks ago.

Conor Bradley showed he is more than capable at the top level with one goal and two assists to cap off a Player of the Match performance against the Blues.

However, the final will likely not be as straightforward.

Besides the heavy defeat on Merseyside, Chelsea have largely been good in matches against their top 6 rivals.

The Blues have beat Spurs 4-1, held Manchester City to an entertaining 4-4 stalemate, and drew 2-2 with the Gunners.

Chelsea injury blow

Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile has been ruled out of the approaching Carabao Cup final on 25 February.

The Frenchman was withdrawn during Chelsea’s fourth-round win over Aston Villa in the FA Cup last week.

He was forced with a suspected groin issue against the Villans.

According to talkSPORT, scans have now indicated that the 22-year-old will miss the clash at Wembley as a result.

Badiashile has made 12 appearances for the Blues this season, with eight of them coming in the Premier League.

Injuries have consistently troubled the former Monaco man in his time at Stamford Bridge so far.

The defender did not start a Premier League game until November 25 this campaign – with consistent hamstring and groin issues keeping him out.

Badiashile joins the ranks of Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Marc Cucurella, Robert Sanchez, Romeno Lavia, and Lesley Ugochukwu on the treatment table.
