Chelsea’s transfer strategy deserves praise despite the chaotic nature with which they do deals.
That is the view of football finance expert Dan Plumley, who told Football Insider that Noni Madueke’s transfer to Arsenal was a prime example of this.

Similarly, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall left Chelsea this summer after one year at the club, whilst Djordje Petrovic, Lesley Ugochukwu, and Mathis Amougou have all departed after short permanent stays in West London.
Meanwhile, Joao Felix left for Al-Nassr, bringing to an end a second spell at the club, with the Portuguese forward making only 40 appearances in a blue shirt.
This article contains exclusive comment from Dan Plumley, a football finance expert and senior lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University.
Whilst some may point to the upheaval that takes place at Stamford Bridge as a sign of mistakes being made, Plumley told Football Insider exclusively that he sees it as a method that allows Chelsea to continue developing their squad.

When asked about Dewsbury-Hall‘s departure just a year after joining from Leicester, the finance expert said: “In fairness to them, they have been good at selling.

“Madueke’s gone to Arsenal for a sizeable fee this summer, so they have always found a way to get players off the books where they’ve needed to.
“Sometimes that’s come really quickly, it’s like, buy a player, sell a player within a year or 18 months, and that’s been where people have looked at the craziness in the model.”
In their never-ending pursuit to sign the world’s best talent, especially in the attacking departments, the Blues have their eye on an England international.
Keith Wyness told Football Insider exclusively that an offer of £80m from Chelsea would be enough to sign Morgan Rogers.

The Aston Villa star shone last season, but the Midlands side are under pressure from UEFA to reduce their squad cost, and could be inclined to part ways with the 23-year-old if the offer is right.
However, losing Rogers would significantly impact the Villains’ on-pitch performances next year, and they will likely do all they can to keep the attacking midfielder.
