Federico Chiesa’s short spell at Liverpool is nearing a likely end, with Napoli reportedly stepping up interest in the Italian winger ahead of the new season.

Now, with Hugo Ekitike already signed and a potential deal for Alexander Isak edging closer, Chiesa’s role looks more uncertain than ever.

The winger has made it clear he prefers a return to Serie A and Napoli could be ready to offer him that route.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Napoli’s transfer focus recently shifted from attackers to defenders after missing out on Swiss forward Dan Ndoye to Nottingham Forest.

Their pursuit of Girona’s Miguel Gutierrez has since cooled, bringing Chiesa back into their sights.

Antonio Conte’s side are reportedly considering multiple Premier League wingers, with Chiesa, Raheem Sterling and Jack Grealish all linked.

Among them, Chiesa is the most financially viable target, earning significantly less than either Sterling or Grealish.

This makes him a more realistic option within Napoli’s wage structure.

Conte wants options who can stretch the pitch and bring directness to Napoli’s flanks.

While Chiesa didn’t make a mark at Liverpool, his proven pedigree in Italy with Juventus and Fiorentina still makes him an attractive option for clubs in Serie A.

A departure this summer would suit both the player and Liverpool, who have already shifted focus toward younger, more versatile attacking profiles.
