Christian Eriksen has yet to find a new club after departing Man United as a free agent this summer.

Eriksen rejected a move to Wrexham, newly promoted to the Championship, during the recently closed transfer window, having made the switch to Old Trafford three years ago.

The 33-year-old made 107 appearances for Man United, notching eight goals and 15 assists after joining from Brentford, who gave him a chance to play following his return from football.

As well as Eriksen, Victor Lindelof joined Aston Villa as a free agent this summer, having run down his contract and fallen down the pecking order significantly, making just six league starts last season.

Now, after being left out of the latest Denmark squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers, the midfielder is seeking a new club and has been spotted training with one this week.

According to talkSPORT (4 September), Eriksen has been training with Malmo ahead of their Europa League campaign, with time on his hands to pick a new club before the European transfer window closes.

The midfielder is training with the Sweden first division giants in a bid to keep up his fitness, though it is unclear whether he could earn a contract with Malmo for the season ahead.

While he would make a great addition to the team, Malmo, the team where Zlatan Ibrahimovic broke through in 1999, have already submitted their squad for the Europa League, meaning he would not be able to feature until the knockout rounds next year.

As already discussed, Wrexham attempted to draw the former Premier League star to the SToK Cae Ras, suggesting that many clubs still see him capable of performing at a very high level.

Transfer windows in Turkey and Saudi Arabia also remain open; this is how Man United believe they can still sell Tyrell Malacia after failing to offload him this summer.

Mick Brown told Football Insider in June that Rangers wanted to sign Eriksen, though no deal ever materialised from the Scottish giants.

That does not mean that they will not return in January.

The former Tottenham man still has a lot to give on the pitch, and if he is to join Malmo ahead of the deadline, it would provide a huge boost for their Europa League aspirations if they get through the league phase.
