Clinton Morrison claimed Everton fans would be feeling a bit jealous over Liverpool’s success.

The pundit while explaining why the pressure was growing on Toffees boss Marco Silva, implied it didn’t help that when Everton fans look over “the other side of the road” at Liverpool that Jurgen Klopp’s side were doing really well.

“They look over the other side of the road, Everton fans, and see how well Liverpool are doing…they feel a bit…you are jealous,” said Morrison on Sky Sports’ The Debate (22:42, Tuesday, October 8th).

Morrison struggled to think of a word to describe how Toffees fans would be feeling over Liverpool before directly saying they’d be jealous.

Everton fans are surely going to hate being branded as jealous over Liverpool’s success, but no Toffees fan is going to denying that they’re not enjoying the Reds’ red-hot form.

However, while Everton lagging behind is probably music to the ears of most Liverpool fans, it would feel so typical if the Toffees improved by the time the first Merseyside Derby of the season happens.

After all in the 2018/19 season, Liverpool only just beat Everton in December due to a very late Divock Origi goal and had to settle for a very frustrating 0-0 draw with them in March, and when you consider the Reds only finished a point off eventual league champions, Manchester City, that result in hindsight could have been the one that cost Klopp.
