Cody Gakpo has distanced himself from speculation about his Liverpool future.

The Netherlands international is reportedly of interest to Bayern Munich after helping the Reds win the Premier League title.

The 26-year-old thrived at Anfield following the appointment of Dutch compatriot Arne Slot as Jurgen Klopp’s successor.

Restored to his favoured left-wing position, the forward went on to enjoy the best season of his Liverpool career to date.

Making 49 appearances in all competitions, Gakpo returned 18 goals and six assists.

And such form has not gone unnoticed, with reported interest from Bayern emerging after it became clear that Florian Wirtz had snubbed the Bavarians in favour of a switch to Anfield.

Gakpo is currently away with the Netherlands on international duty as they take on Finland and Malta in 2026 World Cup qualification.

The forward was asked about such transfer speculation ahead of facing Finland when put up for press conference duties.

And while he did not take the opportunity to commit his future to Liverpool, he insisted he has not heard of any interest from Bayern Munich.

"I haven't heard anything about it myself,” he said.

“I'm closing myself off from it.

“Maybe my agent has heard something, but I'm focusing on myself."

Meanwhile, Gakpo praised Jeremie Frimpong after Liverpool completed the £29.5m signing of his Netherlands team-mate earlier this month.

"For us, Jeremie is a very good addition," he said.

"With his speed and quality.

“But also because of his position, because Trent [Alexander-Arnold] is no longer with us."

Gakpo is not the only Liverpool forward whose future has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks.

Darwin Nunez is expected to move on while the Reds have rejected an approach from Barcelona for Luis Diaz, with the Colombian admitting he is talking to clubs earlier this week.

Meanwhile, Federico Chiesa has confirmed he is both open to staying put at Liverpool or returning to Italy after a year on the fringes at Anfield, while Diogo Jota also faces an uncertain future.
