When asked about new signing Jeremie Frimpong, Gakpo didn’t hesitate to praise his Dutch teammate’s pace.

But just as Gakpo was sharing his thoughts, in came Curtis Jones — uninvited and armed with banter.

Interrupting the interview with a grin, Jones jokingly declared, “He’s an incredible player.

Probably the fastest in the team, one of the strongest, got the best technique, yeah, yeah, yeah, Cody Gakpo.”

Gakpo couldn’t help but laugh and replied, “Oh my god!

Gakpo believes his blend of speed, crossing, and defense will add real value.

Another familiar face, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, also joined the club as assistant coach.

Gakpo welcomed the experience the Dutch legend brings, saying, “He can teach us a lot from what he experienced in his career, as a player and as a manager.”

The Reds are prepping for another big season, and with Frimpong flying down the flanks — the race to be Anfield’s fastest is officially on.
