Cody Gakpo will not feel intimidated by Alexander Isak's impending arrival at Liverpool based on his earlier remarks about battling for positions at Anfield.

He becomes the third fresh attacking addition to join the Reds following the £116m capture of Florian Wirtz and Huko Ekitike's £79m switch.

While Liverpool fans will be counting down the days until the new £321m trio combine with Mohamed Salah, the existing members of Arne Slot's frontline might feel under pressure.

Gakpo, who has netted once and provided two assists across the opening three Premier League fixtures of the season, represents one player who could be questioning his prospects.

The Netherlands international was brought in by Jurgen Klopp from PSV Eindhoven during the January 2023 transfer window.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, saving members £336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.

Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.

It's probable that Gakpo will need to accept a substitute's role once Isak touches down at Anfield.

The Reds cruised to Premier League glory last season, yet suffered premature eliminations in the Champions League and FA Cup, falling to Paris Saint-Germain and Plymouth Argyle respectively.

They also experienced heartbreak in the Carabao Cup final, succumbing to Newcastle at Wembley Stadium, where Isak struck in a 2-1 victory for the Magpies.

In addition to the new signings, Liverpool have also sold Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich for a hefty £65.5m, while Al-Hilal of the Saudi Pro League purchased Darwin Nunez for £46m.

The Reds were further rocked by the tragic loss of forward Diogo Jota, who sadly lost his life in a car accident in July.
