Liverpool are heading home from Japan after completing the second leg of their summer tour on Wednesday.

The Reds were given a tough game by Yokohama F.

However, Liverpool rallied back, eventually running out 3-1 winners at the Nissan Stadium.



Florian Wirtz began the comeback, sweeping home Curtis Jones’ flick on to register his first goal for the Reds, if only unofficially.

Wirtz is settling in nicely at Liverpool having joined for a record fee from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

And having found the back of the net on Wednesday, the 22-year-old hit the town in Tokyo with some of his Liverpool teammates, including fellow new arrivals Hugo Ekitike and Jeremie Frimpong.

Having travelled all that way, it was nice to see the Liverpool squad sharing their own pictures from some time off in Tokyo on Wednesday.

Certain players banded together, with the biggest group including Wirtz, Ekitike, Frimpong, Jones, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo.

Konate shared some good snaps from their jaunt around Tokyo on his Instagram page, with one in particular catching Wirtz’s eye.

The players are grouped together in a room with all sorts of fluorescent lights making patterns around the place.

Ekitike is lying flat on the floor, while Konate stands at the back, arms spread wide.

“That’s a cold pic,” Wirtz reposted on his Instagram stories, featuring a raft of cold related emojis, as well as a Japanese flag.

While Wirtz, Frimpong and Ekitike were bonding together, one of the other new signings, Giorgi Mamardashvili was making himself at home with Liverpool’s South American contingent.

Alexis Mac Allister and Darwin Nunez lost their close friend Luis Diaz at the club this week, with the Colombian joining Bayern Munich.

But Mamardashvili appears to have taken Diaz’s place for the time being, with Nunez sharing a snap of he, Mac Allister and the goalkeeper in downtown Tokyo.

Meanwhile, youngsters Trey Nyoni and Rio Ngumoha stepped out together, while Kostas Tsimikas and Mohamed Salah appeared to enjoy some time together.
