Chelsea’s summer overhaul has continued at Stamford Bridge with one of Enzo Maresca’s longest-serving players on his way out.
The Blues have certainly been busy this summer with over £260million spent on new arrivals already, all but two of which were brought in before the end of Chelsea‘s successful Club World Cup campaign.
Liam Delap and Joao Pedro made immediate impacts for Maresca’s side on their way to winning FIFA’s revamped tournament, and other new signings like Jorrel Hato are expected to hit the ground running.
Chelsea aren’t done yet though and still want to strengthen in attacking midfield with a move for RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons, and a spot in Maresca’s side looks set to open up after the latest developments.

Chelsea’s plethora of new signings had already resulted in players like Noni Madueke being shown the door, and the writing has been on the wall for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for some time in West London.
Dewsbury-Hall‘s 36 appearances in all competitions last season featured just two Premier League starts, and the midfielder had long since been tipped for a summer exit regardless of Chelsea’s incomings.
Everton broke through on 4 August to agree a deal of £25m plus add-ons with Chelsea for Dewsbury-Hall, and the 26-year-old’s move to Merseyside gathered pace before being announced on Wednesday.

After his official unveiling as an Everton player at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Dewsbury-Hall posted on Instagram (6 August) with a message to Chelsea fans, which said; “Memories to last a lifetime.
Thanks for everything Chelsea FC.”
Numerous Blues players commented on Dewsbury-Hall’s post with emotional goodbye messages, and Cole Palmer added; “what a guy man, all the best bro”.

Football Insider Verdict
Although Enzo Maresca made a statement of intent by bringing Dewsbury-Hall with him from Leicester to Stamford Bridge last summer, the 26-year-old wasn’t a frequent sight in their domestic campaign.
Over half of Dewsbury-Hall’s 36 appearances came in the UEFA Conference League and Club World Cup, and Maresca will continue to streamline his squad as Chelsea return to the Champions League.
Christopher Nkunku is in the same boat and he headlines a list of five Chelsea players whom Maresca is keen to move on this summer, but in Dewsbury-Hall’s case, it’s clear that he will certainly be missed in the dressing room.
