Liverpool are set to be beaten to the signing of one player they reportedly scouted earlier this season.

The Reds have been busy in the transfer market with the addition of Jeremie Frimpong, Armin Pecsi, Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez.

Kerkez was the last to join in a deal reported to be over £40 million.

With Giorgi Mamardashvili still set to join, Liverpool’s spending this summer is set to exceed £200m.

However, Arne Slot’s side do not intend to slow down after four signings.

Given that they may pause a bit on adding new players until they are able to sell some first-team players, Liverpool are set to sign a few more players.

Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, Marc Guehi, Jorrel Hato and Victor Osimhen have all been linked with a potential Anfield switch.

But apart from the players mentioned above, another player who has been linked with a potential summer move to Liverpool is Jesus Rodriguez.

A recent report revealed that the Reds and Aston Villa have been in contact to sign the Real Betis youngster.

Rodriguez made his Real Betis debut last October.  He scored five goals and picked up four assists last season, setting clubs across Europe on alert about a potential move for him.

Liverpool had sent scouts to watch him earlier this season, and it was thought that a move for him was possible.

However, the 19-year-old is now set to move to Serie A side Como.

This is according to Fabrizio Romano, who revealed that Cesc Fabregas’ side are closing in on a deal to sign Rodriguez.

With the 19-year-old moving to Como, Liverpool may turn their attention to Malick Fofana, another young winger they have scouted extensively.

The club have been linked with the  Belgian for some time now and recently got a potential boost in their race for him.
