Derby County boss Frank Lampard has confirmed that star player Harry Wilson could be recalled by Liverpool in the January transfer window.

“Since Harry came there has been constant dialogue with myself, Liverpool and Harry.

Wilson has only touched the tip of the iceberg in terms of his ability and he is only going to get better as the year progresses, so there is no doubt that he would be capable of breaking into the Liverpool first team at the end of his loan spell.

“There is an element where Liverpool can call him back in early January.

That is a conversation between the clubs,” Lampard said, as quoted by the Derby Telegraph.

“Liverpool run a fantastic department in terms of looking after their loans players.

The ex-Chelsea midfielder remains optimistic that the 21-year-old playmaker will stay with the Championship club for the remainder of the season, but said that there is “conversation between the clubs.” Wilson has netted eight goals so far this season for the Rams, including two in the recent 2-1 win over Swansea.
