Everton fans have taken to social media to admit that they are concerned about Iliman Ndiaye’s future at the club after his performance for Senegal against DR Congo on international duty.
Iliman Ndiaye was one of the Toffees’ standout players last term after he joined the club from Marseille for a fee of around £15million [BBC].
The Senegal international notched 11 goals in 39 appearances to end his debut campaign as the club’s top-scorer, and he also had the distinction of scoring the last goal at Goodison Park in a 2-0 win over Southampton.
His talismanic ability from attacking midfield was a rare shining light for the club after some years of turmoil under Sean Dyche, and it was imperative for them to keep him this summer ahead of their first campaign at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The window is now over and he is still an Everton player, so they have succeeded in keeping hold of him after a good start to the new season, but concerns are starting to grow around his future after he shone away from the club.

Ndiaye’s impressive club form has extended to his international duties, with Senegal now unbeaten in the last 14 games in which he has featured for them in attack.
The 25-year-old started on the left-wing for Pape Thiaw’s side against DR Congo on Tuesday (9 September), and he shone once again as they emerged 3-2 victors after he had set-up Pape Gueye for his country’s opener.

Many Senegalese supporters were raving about Ndiaye’s performance on X, and their praise also saw numerous Everton fans chime in with their thoughts on him, with a number expressing their concern at his future at the club and whether they will be able to hold onto him much longer if he keeps performing at such a high level.
One fan said: “We need to get Europe this season, how else are we going to hold onto him?,” while another demanded: “I repeat get that bumper new contract sorted please Everton.”
Another questioned how the Toffees had landed such a talent, asking: “How did Marseille let him go?
He’s unbelievable at keeping the ball.”
Ndiaye drew comparisons to one of the best players in recent times as one fan insisted: “This is prime Neymar,” in reply to a clip of his performance, while another simply described him as a “ridiculous footballer.”
It is clear to see how highly-rated Ndiaye is among fans of both Everton and Senegal, but the former could well be left disappointed next summer if he moves on to pastures new following major interest in his services.
A £40million enquiry from Serie A titans Inter for Ndiaye was immediately rejected by the Toffees during the summer, and while it is unclear when the San Siro side sent their bid, Everton should feel like they had a lucky escape considering their size and their potential to be successful in Italy.
Cristian Chivu’s side are likely a more attractive prospect to play for than Everton, despite David Moyes leading their revival this season to possibly finishing in the top-half for the first time since 2021.

The Toffees should be thankful that Ndiaye did not have his head turned by the Italian giants’ interest, especially considering that certain Premier League players did kick up a fuss at their respective clubs this summer and were eventually able to get moves away over the line.
Former Toffees CEO Keith Wyness has told Football Insider that Ndiaye could be worth £80m next summer in the face of Inter’s interest, and another season of him impressing on Merseyside could see them come in again next summer, with an exit likely if Everton are not able to get European football.
