Tottenham supporters have flocked to social media to question Thomas Frank’s decision over Brennan Johnson’s involvement against PSG.

Last season, he notched 18 goals and four assists in 51 games, making him one of the team’s most deadly forwards, and after Son Heung-min‘s exit, he is even more impactful.

The Welsh winger has performed well during pre-season, even scoring in the 1-1 draw against Newcastle United, but fans are now worried for his future in North London after being snubbed at the Bluenergy Stadium.

Multiple fans were shocked to see Mathys Tel brought onto the pitch instead of him, while another suggested that Johnson being subbed on would have meant the trophy “going back to North London”.

A third fan asked if the winger was injured, but with the 24-year-old sat on the bench until the final whistle, it is far more likely that the manager opted against using him for the game.

With just days until the Premier League season starts, there is a suggestion that Johnson might be assessing his options for the campaign ahead, especially if he is not rated by the new boss.
