Tottenham defender Cristian Romero has shared his thoughts on social media after a new captain was named in the side’s most recent game.
Romero was named the Tottenham captain at the start of the season, as he replaced Heung-Min Son, who left to join LAFC.
It came at a time when the Argentine was linked with a move away from the side, only for Romero to sign a new Tottenham contract to end that speculation.
He clearly plays a crucial role for the team and is integral to Thomas Frank.
Still, after numerous injuries last term, the defender was rested in their latest game against Doncaster Rovers, where Spurs won 3-0.
Since Romero was not involved, a new captain was named, and the defender shared how he felt on social media.
Pedro Porro was given the Tottenham captaincy for the first time in his career in the side’s win over Doncaster.
Romero shared his reaction on Instagram, as he shared a photo of the right-back during the side’s team huddle and seemed to approve.
He captioned his post:” Mi capitan, claro Peter”, which translates to “My captain, of course Peter” in English.

Porro has also had a crucial role in the team as he has started in every single game of the season so far, with eight appearances and providing one assist.
Tottenham’s defence saw several changes over the last year, but Romero and Porro remain key despite injury worries.

Tottenham decided against signing Vanderson in the summer after the hierarchy resisted selling Porro amid interest from Man City.
He has also seen competition from Djed Spence, who has impressed for Spurs ever since breaking into the side, but the Spaniard has kept his position and has now been rewarded.
Football Insider reported earlier in the year that Tottenham will not let Porro go easily, taking the same stance with Romero amid interest from Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
Now, he follows that same journey after being entrusted with the role of the captain, which should put an end to any transfer speculation.
