West Ham United claimed their first win of the Premier League season by beating Nottingham Forest 3-0 at the City Ground on Sunday.

The build-up to the Premier League encounter on 31 August was dominated by the fact that West Ham plan to sell Lucas Paqueta, while boss Graham Potter remains under pressure.

However, the attacking midfielder was named in the East London club’s lineup and produced a strong save from Matz Sels in the first half.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho could replace Potter if the 50-year-old is sacked by the London Stadium side, should they hit bad form again.

A late flurry of goals from Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta, and Callum Wilson earned a previously unlikely win for the Hammers.

However, the former Leicester City goalkeeper was more confident against Nottingham Forest.

Kyle Walker-Peters – 6

The former Southampton man helped ensure that Callum Hudson-Odoi was not at his attacking best for Nottingham Forest.

Konstantinos Mavropanos – 6

Konstantinos Mavropanos’ defensive showing meant that Chris Wood could not regularly threaten for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

Max Kilman – 7

Like Mavropanos, Max Kilman was largely responsible for extinguishing the potential threat from Wood.

However, the 20-year-old outshone the former Southampton star by producing a late assist.

Tomas Soucek – 5

A solid, but unspectacular performance from the Czechia international.

James Ward-Prowse – 5

James Ward-Prowse once again struggled to show his creativity from a deeper midfield role.

Jarrod Bowen – 8

West Ham talisman Bowen produced a fantastic captain’s performance and finished his chance well to help earn Potter’s side a much-needed win.

Lucas Paqueta – 8

Aston Villa transfer target Paqueta showed a glimpse of his class when his first-half shot was saved by Sels.

He was the nerveless as he scored the penalty that won the game.

Mateus Fernandes – 6

A decent, but unspectacular, Hammers debut for the former Southampton man, who injected some much-needed creativity into Potter’s side.

Niclas Fullkrug – 5

The former Borussia Dortmund striker had a quiet first half, but tested Sels early on in the closing 45 minutes.

Callum Wilson (for Fullkrug, 64) – 8

Summer signing Wilson was unlucky to see his deflected effort saved by Sels soon after being introduced to the action, before trying to beat the Forest goalkeeper from a tight angle.

He then scored a well-deserved goal via a header in additional time.

Andy Irving (for Ward-Prowse, 75) – 6

The 25-year-old injected energy into West Ham’s performance, helping them earn their victory on the road.

Crysencio Summerville (for Fernandes, 82) – 8

Summerville provided everything Potter would have wanted from a late substitute, notching an assist for Bowen and winning the penalty.
