Crystal Palace are closing in on a long-term replacement for Liverpool target Marc Guehi, according to reports.

Ben Jacobs has claimed that the 19-year-old is viewed as a long-term replacement.

It's already been a busy summer for the Premier League champions but they could still pull off a couple of blockbuster signings as the window comes to a close.

Alexander Isak's future remains unresolved, with the striker refusing to play or train for Newcastle United.

Liverpool remain interested in a deal for the Swede.

Meanwhile, Marc Guehi has been a player of interest all summer and Liverpool could still launch a last-minute deal for the Crystal Palace defender.

While, the report adds that Liverpool have received encouragement that Palace are prepared to sell Guehi which has led to their active search to strengthen their backline.

Sporting CP's Ousmane Diomande, Manuel Akanji and AS Roma's Evan Ndicka have been named as potential targets but it has been claimed that the Manchester City stopper has reservations over a move to Selhurst Park.

Speaking on Friday, Glasner said: "[Guehi] He has to [be a Palace player when the window shuts].

"It is not possible to find a Marc Guehi replacement who can play straight in the Premier League as a starter."
