Liverpool’s hopes of signing Marc Guehi have been given a potential boost after Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish made telling comments about the defender’s future.

Since joining Crystal Palace from Chelsea in 2021 for $24 million), Guehi has developed into one of the Premier League’s most consistent defenders.

Guehi also etched his name into Palace folklore last season by captaining the club to their first-ever FA Cup triumph, a 1-0 win over Manchester City at Wembley.



Palace stood firm last summer in their efforts to keep hold of Guehi, rejecting multiple bids from Newcastle United —reportedly as high as £65 million ($87 million).

Palace chairman Steve Parish is no stranger to the transfer market and will fight to ensure Guehi doesn’t leave for anything below his full value.

Last summer, he sanctioned Michael Olise’s move to Bayern Munich for around £51 million ($69 million).
