Amid Liverpool's deadline day attempt to sign Marc Guehi, Crystal Palace have confirmed the arrival of central defender Jaydee Canvot at exactly 7pm.

Guehi's switch to Anfield still hangs in the balance with confirmation yet to arrive for the proposed deal, although Liverpool have submitted a deal sheet which allows them a further two hours to get a transfer over the line.

Palace had been working on two central defensive signings as they settled a £35m agreement with Liverpool for Guehi's transfer.

It also included a 10 per cent sell-on clause and the England international was granted permission to undergo a medical in London on Monday afternoon.

Now the Eagles have announced teenager Canvot's arrival on the deadline but have not been able to secure another defender as intended.
