Steve Parish appears to have found the key as Crystal Palace attempt to bring Hwang Hee-Chan to Selhurst Park this summer.

The 29-year-old South Korean struggled for game time last season, making just five starts in the Premier League, and only being able to hit the back of the net twice against Man United and Tottenham.

Vitor Pereira, who is unlikely to leave Wolves this summer, clearly does not have the winger in his plans, with Jorgen Strand Larsen, Jhon Arias, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, and Marshall Munetsi preferred in attack.

Despite splashing £23million on Strand Larsen [BBC Sport], Wolves are keeping tabs on Christantus Uche, and his arrival would likely open the door for Hwang’s exit at Molineux Stadium.

He has been a great servant since making his move from RB Leipzig in July 2022, but it now appears that Wolves could allow him to leave, and that comes at a good time as Eberechi Eze closes in on an exit.

Eze appears to be closing in on a move to Tottenham this summer, having impressed clubs all across Europe after several impressive campaigns at Selhurst Park.

The England international has notched 40 goals and 29 assists in 169 appearances, quickly becoming one of Oliver Glasner‘s most important players, but he could now leave on a big-money deal.

With Eddie Nkeitah on the sidelines once again, and Eze’s position needing to be filled, the Daily Mail (19 August) understands that Palace are interested in bringing Hwang to Selhurst Park on loan.

The link appears to have come out of the blue, but with Matt Hobbs close to becoming the club’s new sporting director after Dougie Freedman‘s move to Saudi Arabia.

Hobbs played a vital role in bringing Hwang to Molineux Stadium permanently in 2022, and having been seated with Parish at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, 16 August, a move to Selhurst Park seems inevitable.

Jean-Philippe Mateta, Adam Wharton, and Marc Guehi have all been linked with Palace exits, and with the Eagles being demoted to the Europa Conference League by UEFA, their departures feel inevitable.

Guehi seemingly snubbing Glasner’s handshake after the goalless draw at Chelsea added fuel to the fire that this would be his final few days at Selhurst Park, but it is becoming increasingly unlikely that he leaves now.

While Hwang would not immediately add the same number of goal contributions to the lineup, he would certainly be a good addition, given that Nketiah is stuck on the sidelines once again.

If Mateta is to pick up a long-term injury, Glasner would be troubled for a decent attack in domestic and European competitions, and some fans will be expecting further signings before the window closes.

Hobbs’ impending arrival could be the key factor in the Eagles sealing a move for Hwang’s signature, so Palace will be celebrating two incomings before the transfer window closes in just under two weeks.
