Crystal Palace are reportedly on the brink of securing their Marc Guehi replacement, according to reports.

The England international will depart the South London club this summer, with DaveOCKOP exclusively revealing that Liverpool are in direct talks with Guehi.

The Reds’ interest in Guehi has only grown stronger following the departure of Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen for £35 million.

Liverpool’s disciplined approach to transfers means they are unlikely to deviate from their valuation principles, even with Guehi entering the final year of his contract.

During the first discussions with Marc Guehi’s representatives, it was made clear that patience would be necessary for any potential move to Liverpool to materialize.

Guehi’s current contract with Crystal Palace is set to expire in 2026, meaning he enters this summer with only one year left on his deal – a factor that makes him an attractive option for clubs looking to secure a homegrown defender at a reasonable price.

Palace are believed to value Guehi at around £40–45 million, with sources indicating that a new contract for the 24-year-old is not on the table.

And the South London club are now making serious inroads to replace their star defender.

According to Portuguese outlet A Bola’s front-page report, Crystal Palace are close to reaching an agreement with Sporting CP for Diomande’s transfer in a deal worth €55 million including bonuses.

The Portuguese publication states that the two clubs are now sorting out the percentage of any future sale, with the 21-year-old Ivory Coast international set to sign a five-year contract at Selhurst Park.

The reported fee represents a significant reduction from Diomande’s €80 million release clause, with Sporting showing willingness to negotiate between €50-60 million for their prized asset.

Palace’s successful FA Cup campaign and subsequent European qualification appears to have strengthened their position in negotiations, providing both the financial resources and sporting appeal to attract the young defender.

It now looks like the stage is set for Liverpool to secure Guehi this summer.
