Crystal Palace are not prepared to entertain offers for Adam Wharton under any circumstances despite late interest from Man United.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what sources have told him about Oliver Glasner’s stance on the 21-year-old’s future late in the transfer window.

With Eberechi Eze closing in on a move to Arsenal, and Marc Guehi heavily linked with Liverpool, the Eagles are determined not to lose any star players.

United’s interest in Wharton comes after missing out on a deal for Brighton star Carlos Baleba after Football Insider revealed Brighton value Baleba at £100million.

Palace are expected to deliver the same response at their rivals, as United’s pursuit of a central midfielder enters the final days of the window.

This comes after Football Insider revealed on 18 August that Crystal Palace are confident of keeping Wharton alongside the likes of Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Football Insider revealed last month that Palace are demanding £100million to sell Wharton, with Tottenham also keeping tabs on the England international.

Ruben Amorim has been determined to upgrade his midfield options and is not content with his current options as he aims to improve upon last season’s disappointment.

O’Rourke explained that Wharton is happy at Palace and while Man United remain interested, he is highly unlikely to leave Selhurst Park before the transfer deadline.

“I’m sure they would love to put a not for sale sign over Adam Wharton’s head,” he told Football Insider.

“Look, Palace are fighting to keep hold of their best players this summer.

“I’m sure the player himself is quite content that Crystal Palace as well, he’s under contract until 2029.

“It doesn’t surprise me that Manchester United are interested in Wharton.

“He’s on the list of a number of top clubs, because he’s a top operator and has proved that at Palace and broke into the England squad as well.

“It’d take a huge fee for them to even consider letting him go.

“They’re losing other players, Palace, so letting Adam Wharton go wouldn’t go down too well with Oliver Glasner.

“Palace aree doing everything they can to keep Wharton and I’m told they will not be entertaining any offers for him.”

Alongside their ambitions of strengthening their team, United are also preparing to cash in on players before the transfer window closes.

Brown told Football Insider on 21 August that Man United are planning to accept offers for Onana as they eye potential replacements in goal.

The likes of Emiliano Martinez and Gianluigi Donnarumma have been linked with moves to Old Trafford this summer as they continue to assess high-profile options.

Meanwhile, Brown told Football Insider on 18 August that Man United could re-sign David de Gea, who could be available on a cheap deal.
