Curtis Jones was left with his head in hands on Liverpool's open top bus after a near-miss during the Reds' tour of the city after winning the Premier League title.

Arne Slot's men were crowned champions after thrashing Tottenham Hotspur last month, before they were officially presented with the trophy on Sunday after their final game of the season.

Jones completed the full 90 minutes as 10-man Liverpool came from behind to draw 1-1 with Crystal Palace thanks to Mohamed Salah's late equaliser.

He was then stood right at the front of the bus on Bank Holiday Monday as the Liverpool squad paraded through the city.

Supporters were regularly throwing shirts, scarves and balls up the players on the bus for them to sign and throw back during the early moments of the parade.

But after spotting one supporter with a ball, Jones nudged team-mate Dominik Szoboszlai and started gesturing for the fan in question to kick up the ball to the players on the bus so he can head it back.

Unfortunately for Jones, the supporter's kick was not quite accurate enough.

Kostas Tsimikas was sat on the side of the bus and got a touch to the ball.

But Jones and Szoboszlai looked on aghast as it floated over their heads and to off the other side of the bus, as the Liverpool midfielder reacted by holding his head in his hands.

Jones was later interviewed by Tsimikas on the bus as he paid tribute to supporters and insisted Liverpool was the best city in the world.

"The best city in the world, just have a look at it," he said.

"The best city!

"It’s my second one (Premier League title) but this one feels even more special.
