The Liverpool squad are off on their holidays before they prepare for next season.

The Reds are currently resting and recuperating after a manic season, with all the players certainly well-deserving of their rest.

However, they do not have too long left as they begin training on 8th July to get ready for their pre-season tour of Asia.

In the meantime, transfer rumours will continue to circulate as players step away from media duties and have some downtime with family and friends.

Although he is not linked with a move away himself, many players close to Curtis Jones are, whether they be current teammates or not.

The English midfielder may have accidentally helped these transfer rumours grow too with his recent post on social media, posing with a player Liverpool are strongly linked with.

Liverpool’s attack appears to be heavily targeted so far this summer and top stars are expected to leave, leaving potential vacancies that need filling.

Luis Diaz is rumoured with a move away and the Reds could be in the market for a left-winger, with Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon a player they have long-standing interest in.

Jones is also very close mates with his fellow scouser and after posting a photo with him on his Instagram story, fans might be getting excited over a potential move happening.

What makes this more interesting is that Jones added a ‘fingers crossed’ emoji after tagging the 24-year-old, suggesting that he might be hoping he joins up with him at club level soon.

Of course, looking too far into things can get hopes up, but with Gordon rumours re-emerging over the past week, could this be a cryptic message or just convenient timing?

During the European Championships last summer, Gordon looked set to join the Reds mid-tournament, although the deal never materialised.

Newcastle needed to sell players as they were at risk of breaching PSR rules, with the Magpies willing to sell Gordon for £75m, while Joe Gomez would have gone the other way for £45m.

However, after securing the sales of Elliott Anderson and Yankuba Minteh at the very last minute, Newcastle pulled out of the deal and opted to keep the winger that Eddie Howe labelled as “outstanding.”

Now, Liverpool would need to pay around £100m to sign Gordon this summer, a fee that seems far too high for the Merseyside club given their expenditure already and desire to buy a striker instead.
