Jones went to St Vincent de Paul Primary School in Liverpool city centre and paid for new sports equipment at the school last year.
While his focus was always on football, Jones recognised the importance of education and having an entrepreneurial spirit.

He said: “I didn't really care about school, I just wanted to be a footballer so if I could try and stay off school, say I was ill, to play with the ball in the back garden, or be out on the streets, I would try.
“But I knew school was important.
I've always said I wanted to make my own dough.
“I didn't have a job, I'd always try and find a way to make money, just regular stuff kids like if I’ve got a top my mate wants, I’ll ask him for a fiver.”
Jones became a dad last year.
He said: “I just want to make sure I'm always in my baby's life, that the baby's always got a happy home.
The two don't mix.
“As parents I feel you should want to see your kids as a reflection of you, of how well you brought them up.
