Daniel Farke has provided the latest update on goalkeeper Lucas Perri before Leeds host Bournemouth next in the Premier League.

Leeds’ 3-1 win at Wolves gave Farke’s side their second win of the season to lift them up to 12th in the Premier League table.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored his first Leeds goal in that match as the Whites netted their first goals from open play in the Premier League this season.

Perri missed the fixture, with Karl Darlow deputising between the sticks, and Farke has confirmed who will start against Bournemouth.

In his pre-match press conference before Bournemouth, Farke announced that Perri will not be fit to start and Darlow will continue to deputise for the Brazilian.

Farke was not concerned about Darlow before Leeds’ trip to Fulham and he continues to put his trust in the Wales international.

As per BBC Sport, [25 September], Farke said: “We hope that he [Lucas Perri] can join us next week but at the moment it is realistic to say he is not in contention [to play] before the international break.

“Once he is back in team training he will need a bit of time.”

Perri is therefore also likely to miss Leeds’ home match against Spurs before the international break, with the 27-year-old potentially returning for the trip to Burnley.

Darlow has stood in for the past two matches, and Leeds have still looked strong defensively with the 34-year-old in goal.

Leeds have only conceded seven goals in five games, five of which coming in the defeat at Arsenal.

With Calvert-Lewin now up and running in-front of goal, Leeds found the balance of defence and attack against Wolves.

Farke needs to continue to get the best out of the 28-year-old, which could be key to Leeds’ survival hopes.

Bournemouth arrive at Elland Road fourth in the Premier League table, but the Cherries have never won at Leeds in five attempts.
