It has not been the best few weeks for Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp heads into his final few games of his tenure.

The Europa League exit at hands of Atalanta was extremely disappointing, but the hope was that the focus could be 100% on the Premier League campaign.

However, things did not change against Crystal Palace on Sunday, April 14 – suffering a 1-0 loss at home to Oliver Glasner’s buoyant Eagles.

Things looked promising after the Fulham win, but again Jurgen Klopp’s men had to fight back in the game after getting to the interval at 1-1.

Rather than concluding his tenure with a Premier League triumph, Klopp is now facing what looks to be a challenging and disheartening end to the season.

Therefore, it is difficult to be discussing new managerial candidates amid this disappointment.

Liverpool meet with the agents of Thomas Frank

Danish outlet Tipsbladet (via Sport Witness), which is an old and reliable newspaper, has reported that Liverpool held a meeting with Thomas Frank’s representatives over the soon-to-be vacant role at Anfield.

The report suggests that Liverpool have been examining Frank for while now, and it has finally manifested into a meeting between his agents and Liverpool chiefs.

Thomas Frank has previously spoke on his own ‘ambitions’ in his career as a football manager.

The Dane has earned a strong reputation in the football world through his achievements at Brentford.

He initially joined the club as an assistant manager in 2016, before stepping up as head coach in 2018.

Under his guidance, Brentford achieved promotion to the Premier League in 2021 after several near misses.

Since their ascent, Frank has transformed Brentford into a competitive Premier League team, capable of challenging any club it’s good day.

Despite some inconsistent performances this season, Thomas Frank is still regarded as a top-tier manager who has not yet had the opportunity to lead one of the traditional ‘big’ clubs.
