Danny Ings has been reportedly training with Sheffield United following his release from West Ham United at the end of last season.

The 33-year-old spent the last three seasons at the London Stadium but failed to make any regular first team appearances with the Hammers.

The former Liverpool forward only made 11 Premier League starts in three seasons, playing a total of 69 matches between 2022 and 2025.

Ings has been searching for a new club since he was released by Graham Potter’s side and may now be in line to sign for a new club.

Ings has had an up-and-down career, but the former Southampton and Aston Villa man has hit the 20 goal mark on two separate occasions, once in the Championship with Burnley and once with Southampton in the Premier League.

Mike McGrath took to X (formerly Twitter) to reveal: “Sheffield United will look to add to their squad in coming days.

“Ben Mee, Danny Ings and Nathan Redmond have been training with Sheffield United with a view to deals if they fit with Ruben Selles’ plans,” McGrath added.

After the heartache of losing a playoff final it can be easy to let the emotions takeover, as well as the physical hangover, and as a result club’s struggle to bounce back.

This has been no different for the Blades who find themselves languishing at the foot of the Championship with no points from their first three games.

It’s been a tough start for new manager Ruben Selles but reinforcements with Premier League experience may be what the Spaniard needs.
