Danny Ings could help his new club, Sheffield United, turn their poor form around in the Championship.
The Blades have lost all three of their second-tier games so far, after Ruben Selles replaced Chris Wilder at Bramall Lane, leading to early doubts over the 42-year-old’s future.
Sheffield United reached the Championship playoff final under Wilder’s stewardship last term, but they are yet to show signs of challenging for promotion this season.
Meanwhile, the Blades have been busy in the summer transfer market, as Rhys Norrington-Davies joined QPR from the South Yorkshire club.

While Ings joined Sheffield United on a free transfer after training with Selles’ men, defender Japhet Tanganga has also signed from Millwall.
Former England international striker Ings made just 15 Premier League appearances for his former club West Ham last term, but could be ready to shine in the Championship.
Meanwhile, speaking about the 33-year-old’s move live on talkSPORT on Thursday, 28 August, Alan Brazil said: “[It’s a] good time to go because they’re struggling for their lives at the moment, and they must improve and I think he would help.”

While Ings did not enjoy a successful stint with West Ham, notching just five goals in 69 appearances for the East London club, he has previously proven his worth in the Premier League.

The striker was particularly successful for his former club, Southampton, scoring 22 goals in 38 top-flight appearances in the 2019/20 season.
His exploits for Burnley also earned him a move to Liverpool, although he struggled for game time throughout his three-year tenure with the Reds.
However, the fact that Ings has performed well in the Premier League for both Southampton and Burnley shows that he has a lot to offer in the Championship.
Selles has endured a tough start to life at Bramall Lane, but Ings’ presence will ensure that the Blades are dangerous in attack, which should help them turn their poor form around.
The South Yorkshire side face a challenging away trip to Middlesbrough on Saturday, 30 August, but their new striker can help them cause problems for Rob Edwards’ men.
