The striker’s time at Liverpool is drawing to a close.

Liverpool have made some big moves in the offensive department this summer, and it appears to signal the end of Darwin Nunez’s time at the club.

The club have Hugo Ekitike and are now being linked to closing in on the signing of Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.

Arne Slot has made up his mind about  Darwin Nunez and has decided to replace the Uruguay international this summer.

The striker has been attracting interest from Serie A and the Saudi Pro League for quite some time now and it now appears that his next destination has been confirmed.

According to Graeme Bailey, chief correspondent for TBR Football, the Reds star has agreed a deal in principle to leave the Premier League this summer.

The Uruguayan saw a move to Napoli fall through earlier this summer and is now ready to move to the Saudi Pro League with Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli keen.

Graeme Bailey said:

“Liverpool have a lot going on, and sales are part of their summer as well as the major incomings.

Diaz is done but Nunez was always seen as the big sale.”

“Liverpool respect Nunez hugely, they think he is a top talent but it has not worked out for him and he accepts that too.”

“He has seen Wirtz and Ekitike come in and knows they want Isak – he knows there is little future for him.”

“Nunez knows he is highly unlikely to get his move to Europe and that has seen him agree to a prospective move to Saudi Arabia.”

Darwin Nunez demonstrated flashes of brilliance but lacked the consistency needed to lead the line at a club such as Liverpool.

Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli will reportedly battle it out for his signature.
