The former agent of Darwin Nunez has spoken out after the events that transpired over the weekend.
Nunez had to make do with a spot on the bench during the much-needed 4-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
He came on for a short cameo appearance and was again guilty of missing a clear-cut chance in the dying embers of the clash.
Lately, Nunez’s performances in a Liverpool shirt have drawn criticism from fans and commentators.
The Uruguayan forward has been under fire for his inefficiency in the final third, with many supporters growing impatience with his lack of progress regarding his composure and finishing.
Nunez’s brief appearance during against Tottenham was notably lackluster, and it seemed to be a boiling point for the 24-year-old.
On Sunday evening, he deleted Instagram photos related to Liverpool FC, and was reportedly seen storming down the tunnel after the win at the weekend
Despite displaying strong form and consistently contributing goals and assists prior to the FA Cup loss to Manchester United, Nunez, along with several teammates, has found it challenging to maintain that level of performance since.
Since their FA Cup elimination on March 17th, the 24-year-old has only scored once in the Premier League.
What did Darwin Nunez’ former agent say?
Edgardo Lasalvia, who represented Darwin Nunez prior to his move to Liverpool, declared that the Liverpool man is one of the best strikers in the world – and that he needs to fulfill that potential at Anfield:
“Darwin is one of the best current strikers in the world, I don’t work with him anymore but I love him very much,” Lasalvia said to Winwin.com.
“We have overcome many challenges and difficulties together, including two knee operations.”
“Thanks to our support and great love, and with his will and that of his family, he was able to overcome it.”
“I would like him to believe in himself again and remember everything he went through to get to his current place, and to rely on the people who really love him with or without success, with or without money, because he will succeed again in life and become the best striker in the world.”
“Why did he miss easy chances?
Footballers are human beings and these are just periods in their careers, they must be supported.”
“Nunez can be a goalscorer wherever he plays, I hope it happens the best for the Liverpool team and its fans and the best for Darwin and his family.”
